| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Bishop T. K. Gorman Catholic School for its commitment |

| 4 | 4 | | to providing excellent academic and spiritual education; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Bishop T. K. Gorman Catholic School has been |

| 6 | 6 | | serving the people of Tyler and the surrounding area for more |

| 7 | 7 | | than 55 years; this exemplary institution is operated under the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | loving leadership of Bishop Emeritus Edmond Carmody, Father |

| 9 | 9 | | Justin Braun, and Deacon Bill Necessary; and |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The school provides a challenging academic |

| 11 | 11 | | environment and a rigorous college preparatory curriculum along |

| 12 | 12 | | with an emphasis on values, character, and self-discipline that |

| 13 | 13 | | enables each student to become a contributing member of society; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A high percentage of the school's graduates go on |

| 15 | 15 | | to attend colleges and universities, and many of them receive |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | generous scholarship offers; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Bishop T. K. Gorman Catholic School has been named |

| 18 | 18 | | a Top 50 Catholic High School for 10 consecutive years, and it has |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | received the prestigious Blue Ribbon Excellence in Education |

| 20 | 20 | | Award from the United States Department of Education; it is truly |

| 21 | 21 | | deserving of special recognition for the positive impact it has |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | had on its students and its community; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the students, faculty, and staff of |

| 25 | 25 | | Bishop T. K. Gorman Catholic School on their dedication to |

| 26 | 26 | | excellence in education and extend to them best wishes for |
