| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The 125th annual Brenham Maifest is being held |

| 3 | 3 | | May 1 through 3, 2015, and this spirited event promises great fun |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, One of the oldest spring German festivals in the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | South, Maifest is a community-wide celebration that highlights |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the rich heritage of Brenham and Washington County; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, In addition to a parade and festival, the event |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | features a coronation of junior and senior kings and queens; this |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | year's royal court includes Junior Queens Emma Kate McIntyre and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Kennedy Tilley and Junior Kings Benjamin Rogas and Grant Rogas, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | as well as Senior Queen Gretchen West and Senior King Halen |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Tilley; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, These outstanding young Texans, along with all |

| 15 | 15 | | those associated with Maifest, can take pride in their |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | participation in an enduring Washington County tradition that |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | provides many hours of enjoyment for Brenham residents and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | visitors alike; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby commemorate the 125th annual Brenham Maifest |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and honor the junior and senior royalty of this much-anticipated |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | event; and, be it further |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | the 2015 Maifest royalty as an expression of high regard from the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Texas Senate. |
