| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Meadow Farmers Co-op Gin on the grand occasion of |

| 4 | 4 | | its 80th anniversary; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Meadow Farmers Co-op Gin adopted its name on |

| 6 | 6 | | September 8, 1934, and the articles of incorporation were |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | officially filed with the Secretary of State on February 19, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 1935; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In the decades that have followed, the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | cooperative has been a source of economic support to members, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | owners, and the community; the cotton gin's many civic |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | contributions include assisting with programs in the Meadow |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Independent School District, the Meadow FFA, and the Terry County |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 4-H Club; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The gin serves as a processing center for 25,000 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | acres of cotton with proceeds exceeding $7 million, and its total |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | yearly economic impact is nearly $10 million based on a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | three-year average; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The Meadow Farmers Co-op Gin plays an important |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | role in the financial success of the region and in the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | agricultural success of our state, and its 80th anniversary is |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | indeed cause for celebration; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members and owners of the Meadow |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Farmers Co-op Gin for 80 years of success and extend to them best |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | the gin as a memento of this special anniversary. |
