1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 428
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize the members of the Texas Federation of Republican Women
4	4	on the occasion of their visit to the Capitol on April 16, 2015; and
5	5	WHEREAS, The Texas Federation of Republican Women is one of
6	6	the largest women's political organizations in the country;
7	7	organized in 1955, 17 years after the National Federation of
8	8	Republican Women was formed, it is widely recognized for its
9	9	effectiveness in the election of Republican Party candidates to
10	10	city, county, state, and national offices; and
11	11	WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Federation of Republican
12	12	Women spend countless hours researching issues and working on
13	13	behalf of Republican Party candidates; their goals include
14	14	education, training, and participation in government, and they
15	15	have played a key role in encouraging Republican women to run for
16	16	office; they also dedicate their efforts in support of community
17	17	service programs and literacy projects; and
18	18	WHEREAS, The organization's officers for the 2014-2015
19	19	biennium are Jody Rushton, president; Debra Coffey, first vice
20	20	president-special events; Theresa Kosmoski, vice
21	21	president-bylaws; Janis Holt, vice president-finance; Cheri
22	22	Creekmore, vice president-campaign activities; Rachel Woods,
23	23	vice president-legislation; Kim Chambers, vice
24	24	president-membership; Rhonda Lacy, vice president-programs;
25	25	Gail Entrekin, treasurer; Carol Van De Walle, secretary; Carolyn
26	26	Hodges, immediate past president; and Pam Meyercord,
27	27	parliamentarian; and
28	28	WHEREAS, Through the commitment, hard work, and dedication
29	29	of federation members, women of all ages, ethnic groups, and
30	30	backgrounds have an increased awareness of political issues and
31	31	have recognized their importance in the political process; now,
32	32	therefore, be it
33	33	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
34	34	Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Federation
35	35	of Republican Women for their exemplary accomplishments and
36	36	proclaim April 16, 2015, Texas Federation of Republican Women
37	37	Legislative Day at the State Capitol; and, be it further
38	38	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
39	39	this organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
