SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 43
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Dr. Sidney Richardson on the grand occasion of his 90th
birthday; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman is well known for
his wisdom and generosity of spirit, and he is a respected and
admired citizen of Cameron; and
WHEREAS, Sidney Richardson was born on December 31, 1924;
he graduated from Baylor University in 1949 and went on to earn a
medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at
Galveston; he moved to Cameron in 1957 and established his
medical practice; and
WHEREAS, While in the private practice of medicine,
Dr. Richardson delivered hundreds of babies and served the
people of Cameron with compassion and professionalism; he is
currently serving as medical director of the Milam County Health
Department, and over the last 18 years, he has played a vital role
in the provision of health care to countless Milam County
citizens; and
WHEREAS, He and his beloved wife, the late Dorothy
Richardson, were blessed with four children who have been a
source of much pride and joy; and
WHEREAS, A treasured and respected member of his
community, he is noted for his courage, his dedication to serving
others, and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Sidney Richardson on his many
achievements and extend to him congratulations on the occasion of
his 90th birthday; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
