| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize April 26, 2015, as Blue Sunday Day of Prayer in Texas; and |

| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, Blue Sunday Day of Prayer was initiated in South |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Texas by Janet and John Magee and Ron Corzine in 1994 as part of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | the Blue Sunday Child Abuse Prevention Initiative; it began as a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | prayer campaign involving 20 churches across South Texas, and the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | campaign has grown to include more than seven million people |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | around the world; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, the Blue Sunday Child Abuse |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Prevention Initiative has expanded its efforts to include the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | development and free distribution of educational tools to raise |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | awareness of child abuse; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This exceptional program also provides abused and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | neglected children with material goods that will help them to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | deal with their difficulties and improve their lives; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The Blue Sunday Child Abuse Prevention Initiative |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | has had a profound effect on the lives of countless abused and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | neglected children, and it is truly fitting that the initiative and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | its advocates receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby commend the founders, board members, and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | community volunteers of the Blue Sunday Child Abuse Prevention |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Initiative on their commitment to bringing relief to abused |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | children and extend to them best wishes for a productive and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | memorable Blue Sunday Day of Prayer; and, be it further |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
