| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Thomas Michael Browning, who retired as director of |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | aviation at Valley International Airport after 34 years of |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | leadership in the airport industry; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Michael Browning began his aviation career after |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | graduating from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin; he |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | served in managerial positions at airports in Victoria and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | McAllen, and in 1989, he accepted the position of assistant |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | director of aviation at Valley International Airport in Harlingen; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | he served as director of aviation from 1999 through 2014; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, During his years of leadership at Valley |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | International Airport, Mr. Browning led the efforts to construct |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the terminal building and to establish a ground-handling |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | department to serve air carriers; he also oversaw the building of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | an on-site customs office to facilitate private aircraft and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | inbound cargo; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, He was an invaluable asset to the airport and is |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | respected and admired by members of the Harlingen community; he |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | helped set a course for future growth and success at Valley |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | International Airport, and his presence is greatly missed; now, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend Thomas Michael Browning on his |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | exemplary career with Valley International Airport and extend to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | him best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
