SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 460 In Memory of Evelon Dale WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Harlingen in mourning the loss of Evelon Dale, who died March 16, 2015, at the age of 63; and WHEREAS, Evelon Dale was a well-known civic leader who was respected and admired for her kindness and compassion and her tireless dedication to the betterment of her community; and WHEREAS, She was involved in a variety of community projects, and she served on numerous local boards, including the Cameron County Parks Advisory Board; she also served as port commissioner for the Brownsville Navigation District; and WHEREAS, A woman of deep spiritual devotion, she was an active member of Saint Alban's Episcopal Church, and she was always willing to help those in need; and WHEREAS, She was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter, Alyssa, and she guided her by example; they were known throughout the community and could often be found attending public events together; and WHEREAS, Evelon Dale was a woman of integrity and strength; she leaves behind memories that will be cherished by many, and her numerous contributions to her South Texas community have left a lasting imprint; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Evelon Dale; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Evelon Dale.
