| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | of Harlingen in mourning the loss of Evelon Dale, who died March 16, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2015, at the age of 63; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Evelon Dale was a well-known civic leader who was |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | respected and admired for her kindness and compassion and her |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | tireless dedication to the betterment of her community; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, She was involved in a variety of community |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | projects, and she served on numerous local boards, including the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Cameron County Parks Advisory Board; she also served as port |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | commissioner for the Brownsville Navigation District; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A woman of deep spiritual devotion, she was an active |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | member of Saint Alban's Episcopal Church, and she was always |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | willing to help those in need; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, She was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Alyssa, and she guided her by example; they were known throughout |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the community and could often be found attending public events |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | together; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Evelon Dale was a woman of integrity and strength; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | she leaves behind memories that will be cherished by many, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | her numerous contributions to her South Texas community have left |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | a lasting imprint; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | family of Evelon Dale; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory |
