| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | welcome the delegation from Balch Springs and recognize March 12, |

| 4 | 4 | | 2015, as Balch Springs Day at the State Capitol; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Balch Springs is a home-rule city incorporated in |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | 1953; it is named for early settler John M. Balch, who had |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | abundant springs on his property; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Located in Dallas County, Balch Springs has grown |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to encompass a population of 20,000 citizens who enjoy a thriving |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | community with an attractive quality of life and a vibrant |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | business climate; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Balch Springs is home to a variety of cultural and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | recreational facilities and opportunities for residents and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | visitors alike, including a new library, the Double D Dude Ranch, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and the Chiesl Baseball Complex; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Balch Springs Day at the State Capitol offers its |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | citizens and community leaders the opportunity to learn more |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | about state government and to promote the assets and quality of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | life that make Balch Springs an outstanding place to live, work, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and raise a family; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby recognize the citizens of Balch Springs for |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | their many contributions to our state and extend to them best |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | wishes for a memorable Balch Springs Day at the State Capitol; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and, be it further |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
