| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Peter Salazar, who has been named the 2015 Prevention |

| 4 | 4 | | Officer of the Year by the Corpus Christi Fire Department; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Peter Salazar joined the Corpus Christi Fire |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Department in 1982; he has spent most of his career as a member of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the Fire Prevention Bureau; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Salazar also serves as a certified arson |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | investigator, and through the years, he has played an important |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | role in resolving the causes of numerous high-profile fires; in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | addition, he is a state-licensed peace officer; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, Mr. Salazar is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | respected and admired by his colleagues and by area citizens, and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | he is truly deserving of recognition for his dedication to duty |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and his many achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Legislature, hereby commend Peter Salazar, of the Corpus Christi |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Fire Department, on his many contributions to his community and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | his profession and extend congratulations to him on being named |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the 2015 Prevention Officer of the Year; and, be it further |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
