| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Ruben Bazan on his 2015 induction into the Junior |

| 4 | 4 | | Achievement of Laredo Business Hall of Fame; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Junior Achievement of Laredo works in partnership |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | with business leaders and educators to inspire young people and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | prepare them to succeed in today's complex global economy; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Ruben Bazan is a native of Nuevo Laredo and a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | graduate of Texas A&M University; he holds degrees in petroleum |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | engineering and industrial engineering, and he worked for a time |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | as a production manager in Mexico City and then as senior project |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | manager before returning to his hometown to take over his |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | family's customs brokerage business; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Bazan and his brother went on to found the RB |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Group, a conglomerate of business enterprises that includes |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | customs brokerage, ranching, real estate, wireless digital |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | cable, and trucking interests; he played an important role in the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | creation of Mexico's first wireless digital cable system and in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the design of the electronic clearing system used by Mexican |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | customs; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, He currently serves as mayor pro tempore of Nuevo |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Laredo and as a member of the board of directors of the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Laredo-Nuevo Laredo Binational Commission; it is truly fitting |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | that he receive special recognition for the profound impact he |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | has had on the region's economy; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Ruben Bazan on his many achievements |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and extend congratulations to him on his induction into the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Junior Achievement of Laredo Business Hall of Fame; and, be |
