| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize April 8, 2015, as Texas Home School Day at the Capitol; |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, This special event is sponsored by the Texas Home |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | School Coalition, which was established in 1986 with the mission |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of serving and informing the home school community and promoting |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | home education in Texas; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Texas Home School Day at the Capitol provides |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | families from across the state with an opportunity to meet with |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | elected officials and discuss issues of importance regarding |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | home education; it offers students the opportunity to learn the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | details of legislative procedures and the importance of citizen |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | participation in the political process; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Texas has one of the most favorable environments |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | in the country for home education, and more than 120,000 families |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | throughout the state have chosen this method of schooling for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | their children; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Home School Coalition on |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | its exemplary efforts on behalf of home education and extend to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | all those associated with Texas Home School Day at the Capitol |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | best wishes for a memorable experience; and, be it further |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
