| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Caroline Natalie |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Richards, who died January 9, 2015, at the young age of 12; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Caroline was the treasured daughter of Mark and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Lauren Richards and granddaughter of Jane and Lawrence Graham; |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | she attended Hyde Park Middle School, where she excelled in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | athletics and was always surrounded by friends; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, She was a happy child who was known for her |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | vibrant smile, even in the face of her struggle with |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | osteosarcoma; her generosity knew no bounds, and she was always |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | there to help those who she felt needed support; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, She loved sports, giant hair bows, shopping, and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | singing, and she cherished time spent with her labradoodles, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Talulah and Olive; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Caroline was proud to be honored as one of five |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | ambassadors of the Saint Baldrick's Foundation, an organization |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | that raises funds for pediatric cancer research and provides |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | support to families; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, This brave young girl enriched the lives of all |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | who knew her through her love, laughter, and kindness; her |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | dauntless spirit was an inspiration to many, and she leaves |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | behind memories that will be treasured forever by all who were |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | family of Caroline Natalie Richards; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 32 | 32 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
