| 4 | 4 | | Amateur Athletic Alliance to the city for the 40th anniversary |

| 5 | 5 | | Gay Softball World Series, which is taking place August 15 |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance |

| 8 | 8 | | is a nonprofit organization that consists of more than 800 teams |

| 9 | 9 | | in 45 cities across the United States and Canada; 2016 marks the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 40th year that the alliance has hosted a Gay Softball World |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Series; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The alliance has worked closely with Softball |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Austin and the Austin Sports Commission to bring this prominent |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | event to the city; each year, this outstanding annual tournament |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | raises thousands of dollars to support HIV-AIDS organizations |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and other charitable groups in its host cities; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The 2016 Gay Softball World Series provides an |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | opportunity for the people of Austin to welcome between 4,000 and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 5,000 athletes who make up more than 200 top teams; it is truly |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | fitting that this outstanding tournament receive special |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend the North American Gay Amateur |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Athletic Alliance on its exemplary work and extend to the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | participants, sponsors, and organizers of the 2016 Gay Softball |

| 26 | 26 | | World Series best wishes for a successful event; and, be it further |
