1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 581
2	2	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	3	recognize the Shiner BBQ Cook-off; and
4	4	WHEREAS, This exceptional event is produced annually by
5	5	the Shiner Chamber of Commerce, and this year, the cook-off is
6	6	being held in conjunction with the city's Half Moon Holiday
7	7	Celebration on the Fourth of July weekend; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the International Barbeque Cookers
9	9	Association as one of the organization's annual state cook-offs,
10	10	the Shiner BBQ Cook-off features talented chefs who compete to
11	11	produce the tastiest of culinary favorites; and
12	12	WHEREAS, The weekend celebration includes a variety of
13	13	family-friendly activities, including a pageant, a parade, and a
14	14	spectacular fireworks show; proceeds from the event are used to
15	15	provide scholarships to local youth; and
16	16	WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and
17	17	the Shiner BBQ Cook-off is sure to provide a spirited competition
18	18	and first-rate cuisine that will satisfy the most discriminating
19	19	palates; now, therefore, be it
20	20	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
21	21	Legislature, hereby commend the sponsors of and participants in
22	22	the Shiner BBQ Cook-off and extend to them best wishes for a
23	23	successful event; and, be it further
24	24	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
25	25	them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
