| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Jerry Nickerson, who is retiring on April 30, 2015, |

| 4 | 4 | | after more than 30 years of outstanding work with the Texas A&M |

| 5 | 5 | | AgriLife Extension Service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Nickerson has devoted much of his life to |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | public service, beginning with his active duty in the United |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | States Marine Corps; his military service included a stint in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Vietnam, and his many awards and decorations include a Combat |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Action Ribbon, a Vietnam Service Medal with bronze star, and a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | National Defense Service Medal; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, His tenure with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Service has included nearly 20 years of service to the people of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | San Augustine County; throughout his career, he has been noted |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | for his superior skills and expertise in a wide range of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | agricultural applications; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, he has handled his many |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | responsibilities at the extension service with exceptional |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | efficiency and dedication; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary extension agent, he is respected and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | admired by his colleagues and the general public alike, and his |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | presence at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Jerry Nickerson on his exceptional |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | service to the people of Texas as an agent with the Texas A&M |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | AgriLife Extension Service and extend to him best wishes for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
