| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, which is |

| 4 | 4 | | hosting the second annual United Way Kids Festival at Lockwood |

| 5 | 5 | | Park on April 25, 2015; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, This public festival is an official Fiesta |

| 7 | 7 | | community event that promotes early childhood development and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | offers families the opportunity to enjoy an array of activities, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | entertainment, and refreshments; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The United Way Kids Festival is a certified green |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | event that incorporates a recycling program for children; in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | addition to numerous recreational events, children can learn the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | importance of recycling and of keeping the park clean; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Last year, more than 5,000 people attended the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | festival, and community organizations throughout the city have |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | joined together and worked to ensure that the 2015 event is as |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | enjoyable and informative as the inaugural celebration; now, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | therefore, be it |

| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby commend all those who are sponsoring and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | organizing the United Way Kids Festival and extend to them best |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | wishes for a highly successful 2015 celebration; and, be it further |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the |

| 24 | 24 | | event sponsors as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
