| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Theresa Degelia for earning a Girl Scout Gold Award; and |

| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, Few receive this distinguished award, the highest |

| 5 | 5 | | level of achievement in the Girl Scout program; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Through the process of earning the Gold Award, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | girls develop a lifelong commitment to community service and gain |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | skills that will contribute to their future success; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Theresa has displayed leadership by designing and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | conducting a service project that will have a positive and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | lasting effect on her community; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, She guided a group of volunteers in making more |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | than 500 activity packages for children who attend Camp Feliz and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Camp Sol; the camps help support children who have brain or spinal |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | column tumors; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In receiving the Gold Award, Theresa has brought |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | great honor to herself, her family, her council, her community, and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | her state, and she deserves recognition for her accomplishment; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby commend Theresa Degelia on earning this |

| 22 | 22 | | prestigious award and congratulate her on her outstanding |
