SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 635
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Howie Richey for his many years of service with the
Office of Engrossing and Enrolling at the Texas Senate; and
WHEREAS, During his service over the course of four
decades, Mr. Richey has helped facilitate the production of
innumerable proclamations, resolutions, and bills through his
work as a proofreader, team leader, and supervisor in the
proofreading department; and
WHEREAS, He has served the Senate during 14 regular
sessions and many special sessions under the leadership of four
engrossing and enrolling clerks, three secretaries of the
senate, and six lieutenant governors; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Richey is extremely loyal to the Senate, and
he dedicates his time in numerous ways to help ensure
departmental success; he has a great eye for detail, and he
enjoys training new staff members who are employed during
legislative sessions; he is also of great assistance in planning
office events; he is a veteran of both the Senate spoon band and
the Senate choir; and
WHEREAS, Howie Richey is a beloved member of the Engrossing
and Enrolling staff who is known for his broad smile and his
positive spirit, as well as his penchant for outrageous bowties;
he is respected and admired by many, and he is indeed deserving of
recognition for his years of dedicated service; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Howie Richey on his exemplary
service in the Office of Engrossing and Enrolling and extend to
him best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
