| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Howie Richey for his many years of service with the |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | Office of Engrossing and Enrolling at the Texas Senate; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, During his service over the course of four |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | decades, Mr. Richey has helped facilitate the production of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | innumerable proclamations, resolutions, and bills through his |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | work as a proofreader, team leader, and supervisor in the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | proofreading department; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, He has served the Senate during 14 regular |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | sessions and many special sessions under the leadership of four |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | engrossing and enrolling clerks, three secretaries of the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | senate, and six lieutenant governors; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Richey is extremely loyal to the Senate, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | he dedicates his time in numerous ways to help ensure |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | departmental success; he has a great eye for detail, and he |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | enjoys training new staff members who are employed during |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | legislative sessions; he is also of great assistance in planning |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | office events; he is a veteran of both the Senate spoon band and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the Senate choir; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Howie Richey is a beloved member of the Engrossing |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and Enrolling staff who is known for his broad smile and his |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | positive spirit, as well as his penchant for outrageous bowties; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | he is respected and admired by many, and he is indeed deserving of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | recognition for his years of dedicated service; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend Howie Richey on his exemplary |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | service in the Office of Engrossing and Enrolling and extend to |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | him best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
