11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 641
22 WHEREAS, Kenneth Dierschke of San Angelo retired as president
33 of the Texas Farm Bureau and its affiliated companies in December
44 2014, concluding a distinguished tenure that spanned 12 years; and
55 WHEREAS, Elected to the Texas Farm Bureau board of
66 directors in 1996, Mr. Dierschke was named vice president in 2000
77 and president in 2002; he has also served on the boards of the
88 American Farm Bureau Federation, Southern Farm Bureau Life
99 Insurance Company, and Farm Bureau Bank, and on the executive
1010 committee of the Farm Bureau Bank; and
1111 WHEREAS, Mr. Dierschke was previously a member of the Tom
1212 Green County Farm Bureau board for more than two decades, and he
1313 served two terms as its president; over the years, he gave further of
1414 his time and talents to the Texas Farm Bureau as a member of its Blue
1515 Ribbon Goals, State Resolutions, and Cotton Advisory Committees; and
1616 WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan has been a member of the United
1717 States Trade Representatives Advisory Council, and since 1998,
1818 he has served as agricultural representative on the Region F
1919 Water Planning Group; in addition, he has served on the
2020 Conservation Task Force for the Texas Water Development Board and
2121 the Cotton Board and its executive committee; moreover, he has
2222 been a director of the Southern Rolling Plains Cotton Growers
2323 Association and a member of the United States Department of
2424 Agriculture Trade Representative Advisory Committee and of the
2525 American Farm Bureau Trade Advisory Committee; and
2626 WHEREAS, A fourth-generation farmer, Mr. Dierschke raises
2727 cotton and milo, and he was selected as the Concho Soil and Water
2828 ConservationDistrict FarmeroftheYear;heistherecipientof
2929 the Area Chapter Farmer Award from the Wall FFA as well; a
3030 graduate of Wall High School, he attended San Angelo College; and
3131 WHEREAS, Kenneth Dierschke has greatly benefited the Texas
3232 Farm Bureau through his dedicated leadership, and he may indeed
3333 reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
3434 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
3535 Legislature, hereby honor Kenneth Dierschke for his outstanding
3636 contributions as president of the Texas Farm Bureau and extend to
3737 him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3838 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared
3939 for Mr. Dierschke as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
