| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the recipients of the Texas Environmental Excellence |

| 4 | 4 | | Awards, which are being presented May 6, 2015; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Recommended by a blue ribbon committee and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | selected by the Office of the Governor and the commissioners of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, these |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | award-winning Texans are honored for their dedicated efforts to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | protect and conserve our state's natural resources; they are |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | involved in business, government, and individual citizenship, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and they have voluntarily endeavored to preserve our state's |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | natural resources by preventing pollution, minimizing waste, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | conserving water, reducing energy consumption, and restoring |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | native habitat of this state; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The 2015 Texas Environmental Excellence Awards |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | recipients include Dixon Water Foundation, Presidio, Parker, and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Cooke Counties; Texas Alliance for Water Conservation, Lubbock; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | TreeFolks, Bastrop County; Variety's Peaceable Kingdom Retreat |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | for Children, Killeen; H-E-B; Nucor Steel-Jewett, Jewett; Chevron |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Phillips Chemical Company-Orange, Orange; the City of Frisco; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and Riley Sanders, Austin; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, These winners are also sharing their knowledge, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | technology, and expertise to educate Texans as to how they may |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | protect the environment in their communities, and their leadership |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | will prove vital in preserving our state's natural resources for |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | future generations; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby recognize May 6, 2015, as Texas Environmental |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Excellence Awards Day at the State Capitol and commend the award |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | recipients for their exemplary efforts on behalf of the Lone Star |

| 31 | 31 | | State; and, be it further |
