| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Dana Ables is retiring from the Millsap Independent |

| 3 | 3 | | School District at the end of the 2014-2015 school year, following |

| 4 | 4 | | nearly a half-century of outstanding service; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dana Ables began teaching first grade at Millsap |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Elementary School in 1968; over the course of her career, she has |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | earned the admiration of students, parents, and fellow educators |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | alike for her positive attitude and for the nurturing environment |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | she creates in the classroom; in addition to ensuring that each |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | of her pupils has a strong academic foundation on which to build, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | she has imparted valuable life lessons about hard work and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | discipline and also about kindness, compassion, and courtesy to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | others; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This energetic and creative educator serves as a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | mentor to many of her fellow teachers while continuing to stay current |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | with the latest strategies and best practices in her field; moreover, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | she has had the pleasure of teaching multiple generations in a number |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of area families; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Teaching calls for character, commitment, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | passion, and Dana Ables has demonstrated those qualities in abundance |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | throughout her exemplary 47-year tenure; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Dana Ables on her retirement |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | from the Millsap Independent School District and extend to her |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
