| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the physicians, residents, medical students, and |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | alliance members of the Texas Medical Association, who will be |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | visiting the State Capitol on the first Tuesday of each month |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | during the 84th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Medical Association was founded in 1853 |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | by a group of 35 physicians dedicated to serving the people of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Texas in matters of medical care, the prevention and cure of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | disease, and the improvement of public health; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Today, the association is the nation's largest state |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | medical society; since 2003, its members from around the state |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | have visited the Capitol each session, many of them wearing their |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | white medical coats, making a visible impression as they walk the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | halls on their way to meet their senators and representatives to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | discuss the concerns of their profession and the importance of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | serving the best interests of their patients; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, These exceptional medical professionals work with |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | great commitment to improve the effectiveness of their |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | profession, and they are truly deserving of recognition for their |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | outstanding efforts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Texas Medical |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Association on their outstanding work on behalf of the people of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Texas and welcome them as they visit the Texas Capitol on First |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Tuesdays; and, be it further |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
