SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 672 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Nathan C. Hallett, who is retiring April 30, 2015, as treasurer of Dallas Area Rapid Transit after 15 years of outstanding service; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hallett has throughout his career been noted for his expertise in the field of finance and his extraordinary vision and foresight; and WHEREAS, He has negotiated terms for $3.4 million in long-term bonds and $200 million in short-term notes, and he has managed these instruments with a strong sense of fiscal responsibility; he also negotiated four tax-advantaged lease transactions that have generated approximately $20 million in cash for the agency; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hallett has expertly managed the agency's fuel and electricity hedge programs; he has been a member of the agency's Retirement Committee and also served as chair of its Investment Committee; and WHEREAS, An exemplary administrator and public servant, he is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at Dallas Area Rapid Transit will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Nathan C. Hallett on his exceptional service to the people of Dallas as treasurer of Dallas Area Rapid Transit and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
