| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Dr. Stefanie M. Watkins-Nance for her outstanding |

| 4 | 4 | | service in the office of Senator Royce West during the 84th |

| 5 | 5 | | Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Major Watkins-Nance serves with distinction as a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | member of the United States Air Force; she received a doctoral |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | degree in medicine and surgery at Howard University College of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Medicine in Washington, D.C., and she is currently graduating from |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | The University of Texas School of Public Health, where she has |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | completed her studies for a master's degree in public health; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, As a legislative intern in Senator West's office, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Major Watkins-Nance has worked with the Health and Human Services |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Committee and the Veterans and Military Affairs Committee, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | she has gained firsthand knowledge of the governmental process as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | it relates to her field of expertise, as well as to her field of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | study; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Major Watkins-Nance is an exceptionally talented |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | young woman and a highly decorated servicewoman who has been |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | recognized for excellence in the military and medical fields on |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | numerous occasions, and she has made significant contributions |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | to the office of Senator West as an intern for the Texas Senate; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Stefanie M. Watkins-Nance for |

| 26 | 26 | | her dedication and exemplary work in the office of Texas State |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Senator Royce West and extend to her best wishes for the future in |

| 28 | 28 | | all her endeavors; and, be it further |
