| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Samone A. Jones for her outstanding work in the office |

| 4 | 4 | | of Senator Royce West during the 84th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Samone Jones was a participant in the Texas |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Legislative Internship Program, an educational program sponsored |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | by Senator Rodney Ellis and administered by Texas Southern |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | University; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, She is a resident of Louisiana and is currently a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | student at Southern University Law Center, where she has |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | displayed strengths in the areas of research, drafting of legal |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | opinions, and writing briefs; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Samone has honed her skills at previous |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | internship opportunities in a law firm in Atlanta and in public |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | offices in Tallahassee; as a legislative intern, she has made |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | notable contributions to the office of Senator Royce West while |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | gaining practical experience in state-level politics and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | governance; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A highly intelligent and capable student, Samone |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | has had the opportunity to participate in all facets of the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | governmental process, and she can now use that experience to help |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | her on her path of academic and career success; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Samone A. Jones for her |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | contributions to the office of Senator Royce West as a |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | participant in the Texas Legislative Internship Program and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
