SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 728 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Sara Barge for her outstanding work as a legislative intern in the office of Senator Royce West; and WHEREAS, Sara is a 2013 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a degree in human biology with a concentration in pathogenesis and immunity; and WHEREAS, She has taken part in various activities to help prepare her for a career in public health; she served as a research assistant in a laboratory and was trained to use a transmission electron microscope, and she was a research specialist for the Advanced Maternal Age project; her work on those two assignments was included in published reports; she has also worked as a pharmacy technician; and WHEREAS, She has been a volunteer with a variety of community and philanthropic activities, including service with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and with a resource fair for homeless persons; and WHEREAS, As an intern during the 84th legislative session and the past interim, Sara Barge has played a significant role in the office of Senator West, and it is truly fitting that she receive recognition for her dedicated efforts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Sara Barge on her exceptional work as a legislative intern for Senator Royce West and extend to her best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
