| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Cities of Tyler, Kilgore, and Longview as they join |

| 4 | 4 | | together to celebrate East Texas Coalition Day at the State |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Capitol; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Situated in the Piney Woods area of East Texas, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Tyler, Kilgore, and Longview share the virtues of great natural |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | beauty, abundant resources, and an energetic and engaged |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | populace; they have all played a vital role in the growth and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | prosperity of our state; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Tyler is acknowledged as the area's preeminent |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | medical center, has multiple institutions of higher education, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and is home to the renowned Texas Rose Festival and the Municipal |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Rose Garden and Museum; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Kilgore is an important center for the oil and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | high technology industries, and Kilgore College offers such |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | outstanding cultural attractions as the Texas Shakespeare |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Festival and the world-famous Kilgore Rangerettes; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Longview is the largest city in Gregg County and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | is home to LeTourneau University; it boasts exemplary |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | institutions such as the Longview Museum of Fine Arts, several |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | other museums, and the Great Texas Balloon Race; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The citizens of these three great cities look |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | confidently toward the future while continuing to embrace their |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | rich and colorful past; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of Tyler, Kilgore, and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Longview for their many important contributions to this state and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | extend to them best wishes for a memorable East Texas Coalition |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Day at the State Capitol; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
