1	1	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 730
2	2	WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of a native Texan is indeed a
3	3	special occasion, and Nina Lee Green Sinclair of Lubbock marks
4	4	this significant milestone in her life on May 24, 2015; and
5	5	WHEREAS, Born in Roaring Springs in Motley County, Texas,
6	6	in 1925, the former Nina Lee Green was the daughter of John Duff
7	7	and Myra Kelly Green who were Texas pioneers; she grew up on the
8	8	Greenland Stock Farm on the banks of the Tongue River, and she was
9	9	baptized at the Roaring Springs First Baptist Church in 1936; and
10	10	WHEREAS, She graduated from Roaring Springs High School in
11	11	1942, and she began working at Koen's Studio in Lubbock in 1943 as
12	12	an artist who hand-colored portraits; and
13	13	WHEREAS, She married her childhood sweetheart, Louis Avery
14	14	Sinclair, on January 18, 1946, and they soon moved to Abernathy,
15	15	where they made their home for 26 years; and
16	16	WHEREAS, Mrs. Sinclair was employed again by Koen's
17	17	Studio, where she worked diligently on, among other things, the
18	18	Texas Tech University La Ventana yearbook as a photographer and a
19	19	designer until 1948; and
20	20	WHEREAS, Mrs. Sinclair devoted herself to her home and
21	21	family while supporting her husband in his work as a 40-year
22	22	employee of Southwestern Public Service Company; she and
23	23	Mr. Sinclair were blessed with three wonderful children, David,
24	24	Terri, and Jerry; and
25	25	WHEREAS, Mrs. Sinclair was an incredible mother, mentor,
26	26	and homemaker who supported her children in their various
27	27	activities;theywereinvolvedwithsuchorganizationsas4-H
28	28	and Future Farmers of America, and their education included
29	29	attending and graduating from Tarleton State University and
30	30	Texas Tech University; and
31	31	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair relocated to Lubbock in
32	32	1972; they spent many wonderful years together until
33	33	Mr. Sinclair passed away in 2009; and
34	34	WHEREAS, Blessed with the admiration of a host of loved
35	35	ones and sustained by her strong faith, Nina Sinclair has
36	36	gracefully reached the 90-year mark and continues to enrich the
37	37	lives of all who are fortunate to know her; she is affectionately
38	38	known by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Sugar";
39	39	now, therefore, be it
40	40	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
41	41	Legislature, hereby congratulate Nina Lee Green Sinclair on the
42	42	grand occasion of her 90th birthday; and, be it further
43	43	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Nina
44	44	Sinclair as an expression of high regard by the Texas Senate.
