| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the members of the Denton Police Department on the |

| 4 | 4 | | occasion of the 17th Annual Denton Police Department Awards and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Appreciation Banquet, which is being held May 21, 2015; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, This annual ceremony is sponsored by The Hundred |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Club of Denton, Incorporated, a nonprofit organization that |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | endeavors to support and assist the police department, its |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | officers, and their families; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The banquet is an opportunity to honor the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | accomplishments of individual officers and those supporting the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | officers, and each year, it features the presentation of the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Denton Police Officer of the Year Award; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, In addition to highlighting the accomplishments |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of those who have demonstrated excellence in the field, the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | banquet serves as a fund-raiser; to date, the club has donated |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and pledged more than $100,000 to assist the department and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | officers, and money raised at the event will ensure continued |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | support for officers and their families in times of need; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Denton Police Department work hard |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | to promote the safety of the citizenry, and the awards banquet |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | offers an excellent opportunity to express support and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | appreciation for their dedication and service; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Denton Police |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Department for their many contributions to their community and |

| 28 | 28 | | extend best wishes for a memorable 17th Annual Denton Police |
