SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 793
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the members of the one-act play company of Chapel Hill
High School in Mount Pleasant; and
WHEREAS, One-act play competition is one of the valuable
fine arts opportunities offered in Texas schools; in Class 3A,
there were 221 schools involved in the competition this year;
after four levels of competition, the Chapel Hill High School
company is one of only eight to advance to the state meet, which
is being held in Austin on May 26, 2015, at the McCullough Theatre
on The University of Texas campus; and
WHEREAS, The company's motto is "Together," and the students
in the group are truly like a family; with the guidance and
leadership of Tonya Harper as director and Stacy Ratliff as
assistant director, company members have honed their skills and
developed a polished performance; and
WHEREAS, The company consists of seniors Hannah Simmons
and Jeremy Wright; juniors Macy Barrickman, Tanner Levesque,
Tanner Waldo, Maritza DelCarmen, Franky Arroyo, and Brittany
Murphy; sophomores Kendal Heavner, Taylor Ratliff, Bailey Hall,
Shelby Lockler, Jess Cullen, and Karsen Nelson; and freshmen
Daniel Eddy, Jake Walker, Hayden Gaddis, Haley Swindler, Daisy
Banda, Ashton Easley, Shay Walker, Ashlynn Eubanks, and Vilma
Flores; and
WHEREAS, The accomplishments of these students exemplify
the high quality of their school's fine arts program and the
outstanding educational opportunities that are available in the
public schools of Texas; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas hereby
congratulate the members of the Chapel Hill High School one-act
play company on their accomplishments in 2015 and extend to them
best wishes for continued success in all their endeavors; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the group as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
