5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A full and productive life drew to a close with |

6 | 6 | | the passing of Guadalupe Sauceda Sanchez of Mission on October |
---|
7 | 7 | | 28, 2014, at the age of 88; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The former Lupe Sauceda was born in Mission on |
---|
9 | 9 | | December 12, 1925, to Tomas and Paula Sauceda, and she grew up |
---|
10 | 10 | | with the companionship of four brothers and three sisters; on |
---|
11 | 11 | | October 2, 1941, she exchanged the vows of matrimony with |
---|
12 | 12 | | Gilberto Sanchez, with whom she enjoyed a fulfilling marriage |
---|
13 | 13 | | until his passing; over the years, the couple became the parents |
---|
14 | 14 | | of six children, Herminia, Evangelina, Elena, Gilberto, Roel, |
---|
15 | 15 | | and the late Josefina, and their treasured family later grew to |
---|
16 | 16 | | include two additional generations; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Lupe Sanchez and her husband established the |
---|
18 | 18 | | produce trucking company Sanchez Brothers in 1947, and their work |
---|
19 | 19 | | took them all across Texas, as well as to Indiana, Michigan, and |
---|
20 | 20 | | California; Mrs. Sanchez wore many hats in support of the |
---|
21 | 21 | | enterprise, serving as bookkeeper, field worker, recruiter, |
---|
22 | 22 | | cook, and babysitter; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In her leisure time, Mrs. Sanchez enjoyed |
---|
24 | 24 | | gardening, traveling, and shopping at garage sales; above all, |
---|
25 | 25 | | she delighted in the company of her loved ones, and she instilled |
---|
26 | 26 | | in her family the important values of faith, education, and hard |
---|
27 | 27 | | work; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, memories of |
---|
29 | 29 | | this beloved woman will be forever cherished by those who were |
---|
30 | 30 | | fortunate enough to share in the richness of her life; now, |
---|
31 | 31 | | therefore, be it |

32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
---|
33 | 33 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Guadalupe |

34 | 34 | | Sauceda Sanchez and extend sincere condolences to the members of |

35 | 35 | | her family: to her children, Herminia Wilson and her husband, |
---|
36 | 36 | | Jack, Evangelina Sotelo and her husband, Ramon, Elena Rodriguez |

37 | 37 | | and her husband, Reyes, Gilberto Sanchez Jr. and his wife, |

38 | 38 | | Audelia, and Roel Sanchez and his wife, Sylvia; to her brother, |
