| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Selected as the arts and culture honoree, Cletus |

| 6 | 6 | | Behlmann is a Marianist brother, and he taught for 19 years |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | before joining Saint Mary's University Art Center in 1977; he |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | chairs the institution's Fine Arts Committee and serves as |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | director and artist-in-residence at the center, where he gives |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | demonstrations and teaches; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Brother Cletus studied at the Chicago Institute |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | of Art and at Washington University in Saint Louis; an |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | exceptionally versatile and prolific artist, he makes time amid |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | his myriad responsibilities to create beautiful pieces in a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | variety of media, including metal, acrylics, watercolor, batik, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | pastels, stained glass, ceramics, handmade paper, and crayon; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | his work is widely admired for its deeply spiritual quality; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The city of San Antonio is indeed fortunate to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | have passionate and engaged residents like Brother Cletus |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Behlmann, whose history of community engagement is an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | inspiration to all who know him; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Brother Cletus Behlmann on his |

| 24 | 24 | | recognition by the Westside Development Corporation at the 2015 |

| 25 | 25 | | Westside Honors Exitos en Nuestro Barrio Gala and extend to him |
