| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Dr. Joyce Willard Teal on the occasion of her 2015 |

| 4 | 4 | | induction into the African American Educators Hall of Fame; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Teal is an award-winning educator, counselor, |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | author, and motivational speaker who has taught middle school in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Atlanta and Dallas; she began writing professionally in 1995 and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | has authored 16 books for adolescent and adult audiences; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, She has a passion for helping children, and she |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | has devoted much of her life to counseling young people; she |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | hosts a weekly radio talk show, The Teal Appeal, on KEBN Internet |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Radio; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A distinguished leader in her field, Dr. Teal was |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | named Who's Who Among American Teachers, and she is a recipient |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of the Dallas Independent School District's Principles of Public |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Service Award; she has guided countless children on their |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | educational paths, and she is truly deserving of recognition for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | her accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Joyce Willard Teal for her |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | exceptional contributions to education in our state and extend |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | congratulations to her on her 2015 induction into the African |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | American Educators Hall of Fame; and, be it further |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
