| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | welcome the members of the delegation of Leadership Southeast |

| 4 | 4 | | Texas to the Capitol and to designate February 3, 2015, Leadership |

| 5 | 5 | | Southeast Texas Day at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Southeast Texas is a regional educational |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | nonprofit corporation serving the Counties of Chambers, Hardin, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, Orange, and Tyler and the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Bolivar Peninsula portion of Galveston County; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1992, the organization aims to identify |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and motivate leaders in the Southeast Texas region and to provide |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | opportunities for leadership development and networking, while |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | contributing to regional economic advancement; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The members of Leadership Southeast Texas identify |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and study issues that are of ongoing significance to area businesses |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and seek ways to encourage communication between regional |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | citizens and the prominent leaders of our state; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The organization has recognized that the future |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | of the region is determined by its young people; its Youth |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Leadership Southeast Texas program was launched in early 2011 and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | now has 400 youth graduates; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Southeast Texas Day is an opportunity |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | for alumni and new members to gather together and celebrate the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | organization's achievements and the positive impact it has had on |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the communities of Southeast Texas; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of Leadership Southeast |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Texas on their accomplishments and extend best wishes to them for |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | a productive and memorable Leadership Southeast Texas Day at the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | State Capitol; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor |
