SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 916 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Howard Hicks, who is retiring from HOLT CAT in San Antonio after nearly 39 years of exceptional service; and WHEREAS, Howard Hicks joined HOLT CAT as marketing manager in the mid-1970s after having served at the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce; in 1993, he rose to the position of vice president of marketing, and in 2012, he became vice president of Public Affairs; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hicks holds a master's degree in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University, and he served with distinction as an officer in the United States Army Quartermaster Corps; he has been known throughout his career for his superior organizational skills and his expertise in the field of transportation; and WHEREAS, Through the years, he has been active in a number of community organizations and has served on several committees with the Greater San Antonio and Greater Dallas Chambers of Commerce; his many honors include the 2014 Transportation Champion Award from the San Antonio Mobility Coalition; and WHEREAS, An exemplary administrator, he is respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at HOLT CAT will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Howard Hicks on his outstanding service with HOLT CAT and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
