| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Howard Hicks, who is retiring from HOLT CAT in San |

| 4 | 4 | | Antonio after nearly 39 years of exceptional service; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Howard Hicks joined HOLT CAT as marketing manager |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | in the mid-1970s after having served at the Greater San Antonio |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Chamber of Commerce; in 1993, he rose to the position of vice |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | president of marketing, and in 2012, he became vice president of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Public Affairs; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hicks holds a master's degree in agricultural |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | economics from Texas A&M University, and he served with |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | distinction as an officer in the United States Army Quartermaster |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Corps; he has been known throughout his career for his superior |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | organizational skills and his expertise in the field of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | transportation; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, he has been active in a number |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | of community organizations and has served on several committees |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | with the Greater San Antonio and Greater Dallas Chambers of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Commerce; his many honors include the 2014 Transportation |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Champion Award from the San Antonio Mobility Coalition; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary administrator, he is respected and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | admired by his colleagues, and his presence at HOLT CAT will be |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Howard Hicks on his outstanding |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | service with HOLT CAT and extend to him best wishes for continued |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 29 | 29 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
