| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize José Eduardo Sánchez, who is graduating from the first |

| 4 | 4 | | fellowship class of New Leaders Council--Houston; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, New Leaders Council--Houston is a nonprofit, |

| 6 | 6 | | nonpartisan organization that is training a new generation of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | progressives to work together in the public and private sectors and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | to take leadership roles in the promotion of a strong democracy, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | social and economic justice, and equal opportunity; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, José Eduardo Sánchez has devoted substantial time |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and resources to honing his leadership skills; he has learned |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | from his peers and from experts, and he has developed a deeper |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | understanding of progressive values; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, He is an actively engaged member of his community, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and he has demonstrated a deep commitment to building a stronger |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | progressive network in order to craft a better future for Texas; |

| 17 | 17 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 18 | 18 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 19 | 19 | | Legislature, hereby commend José Eduardo Sánchez on his |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | dedication to the betterment of his community and state and |

| 21 | 21 | | extend to him congratulations and best wishes for much success in |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the future as a Founding Fellow of New Leaders Council--Houston; |
