SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 931
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Shailey Gupta-Brietzke, who is graduating from the
first fellowship class of New Leaders Council--Houston; and
WHEREAS, New Leaders Council--Houston is a nonprofit,
nonpartisan organization that is training a new generation of
progressives to work together in the public and private sectors and
to take leadership roles in the promotion of a strong democracy,
social and economic justice, and equal opportunity; and
WHEREAS, Shailey Gupta-Brietzke has devoted substantial
time and resources to honing her leadership skills; she has
learned from her peers and from experts, and she has developed a
deeper understanding of progressive values; and
WHEREAS, She is an actively engaged member of her
community, and she has demonstrated a deep commitment to building
a stronger progressive network in order to craft a better future
for Texas; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Shailey Gupta-Brietzke on her
dedication to the betterment of her community and state and
extend to her congratulations and best wishes for much success in
the future as a Founding Fellow of New Leaders Council--Houston;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
