| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Tawny Tidwell, who is graduating from the first |

| 4 | 4 | | fellowship class of New Leaders Council--Houston; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, New Leaders Council--Houston is a nonprofit, |

| 6 | 6 | | nonpartisan organization that is training a new generation of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | progressives to work together in the public and private sectors |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and to take leadership roles in the promotion of a strong |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | democracy, social and economic justice, and equal opportunity; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Tawny Tidwell has devoted substantial time and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | resources to honing her leadership skills; she has learned from |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | her peers and from experts, and she has developed a deeper |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | understanding of progressive values; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, She is an actively engaged member of her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | community, and she has demonstrated a deep commitment to building |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | a stronger progressive network in order to craft a better future |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | for Texas; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 19 | 19 | | Legislature, hereby commend Tawny Tidwell on her dedication to |

| 20 | 20 | | the betterment of her community and state and extend to her |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | congratulations and best wishes for much success in the future as |
