| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School in San Antonio |

| 3 | 3 | | is celebrating the 85th anniversary of its founding in 2015; and |

| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, Established by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | Jesus in September 1929, the institution became a boys' military |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | school in 1940, and it later added a girls' school in 1955; an |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | early childhood Montessori Program was introduced in 1973, and in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 1987, the school once again became coed; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Today, Mount Sacred Heart serves a diverse student |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | body in grades pre-K through eight; in addition to providing |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | traditional academic and honors programs, the school enables |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | students to explore and expand their interests through special |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | studies and extracurricular activities ranging from musical |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | theater and the performing arts to athletics and robotics; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, For eight and a half decades, the faculty and staff |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of Mount Sacred Heart have committed themselves to equipping |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | young Texans with a strong educational foundation, and it is |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | indeed fitting that the school be recognized on this special |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | occasion; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby commemorate the 85th anniversary of Mount |

| 22 | 22 | | Sacred Heart Catholic School and extend to all those associated |

| 23 | 23 | | with the institution sincere best wishes for continued success; |
