| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Laredo Chamber of Commerce on the grand occasion of |

| 4 | 4 | | its 100th anniversary; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1915, the Laredo Chamber of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Commerce is one of the oldest business organizations in the city |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and consists of more than 700 members from a variety of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | industries that help the local economy thrive; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, For a hundred years, the chamber has remained |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | dedicated to its mission of promoting and protecting the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | interests of business, tourism, industry, and local education |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and encouraging the orderly development of the area's resources, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | people, and infrastructure; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The organization is celebrating its 100th |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | anniversary in April of 2015, and a year-long centennial |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | celebration commences on January 21 with the unveiling of a new |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | marketing campaign, the celebration logo, and the schedule of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | events; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The Laredo Chamber of Commerce has played a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | pivotal role in the development of a diverse and vital economy |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and remains committed to enhancing the business climate and the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | quality of life in Laredo; its 100th anniversary is indeed cause |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | for celebration; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Laredo Chamber of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Commerce for their dedicated work on behalf of the Laredo |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | community and extend best wishes for a successful centennial |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | celebration; and, be it further |

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
