| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Dr. Quentin Burnett, who is retiring as chief financial |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | officer of the Lewisville Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Burnett joined the Lewisville Independent |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | School District in 2011 after having served as associate |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | superintendent for finance at the Birdville Independent School |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | District; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his distinguished 40-year |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | career in education, Dr. Burnett has also served as a mathematics |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent; he has taught |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | graduate classes in school finance at The University of Texas of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the Permian Basin and at the University of North Texas; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, He has made many contributions to his profession |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | as an administrator for the Texas Education Agency and as a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | trainer for the Texas Association of School Boards; he was a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | member of the executive committee of the Texas Association of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | School Administrators for eight years and served as its president |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | from 1998 to 1999; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, An exemplary educator and administrator, he is |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | respected and admired by his colleagues in the district and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | across the state, and his presence at the Lewisville Independent |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | School District will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Quentin Burnett on his exceptional |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | service with the Lewisville Independent School District and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
