SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 996
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Jay Nelson and to welcome him on the occasion of his
visit to the Capitol on May 26, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Talented and hardworking, Jay is a high-achieving
student at Lamar High School in Houston who has demonstrated
leadership skills and a desire to contribute to his community; and
WHEREAS, He has a great passion to learn about local, state,
and federal government, and during his Capitol visit, he is
shadowing Senator Campbell in order to gain further insight into
the state's legislative process; and
WHEREAS, His educational accomplishments and his interest
in politics and government bode well for a future with countless
opportunities and much success; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Jay Nelson on his dedication to the study
of government and on his many achievements; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of Jay Nelson.
