| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Jay Nelson and to welcome him on the occasion of his |

| 4 | 4 | | visit to the Capitol on May 26, 2015; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Talented and hardworking, Jay is a high-achieving |

| 6 | 6 | | student at Lamar High School in Houston who has demonstrated |

| 7 | 7 | | leadership skills and a desire to contribute to his community; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, He has a great passion to learn about local, state, |

| 9 | 9 | | and federal government, and during his Capitol visit, he is |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | shadowing Senator Campbell in order to gain further insight into |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the state's legislative process; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, His educational accomplishments and his interest |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | in politics and government bode well for a future with countless |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | opportunities and much success; now, therefore, be it |

| 15 | 15 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |

| 16 | 16 | | Legislature, hereby commend Jay Nelson on his dedication to the study |
