5	5	A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
6	6	AN ACT
7	7	relating to the participation of the school of osteopathic medicine
8	8	at the University of the Incarnate Word in certain state programs
9	9	supporting medical residency programs.
10	10	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
11	11	SECTION 1. Section 61.501(1), Education Code, is amended to
12	12	read as follows:
13	13	(1) "Medical school" means the medical school at The
14	14	University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, the medical
15	15	school at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, the
16	16	medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at
17	17	San Antonio, The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston,
18	18	the medical school at The University of Texas at Austin, the medical
19	19	school at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the medical
20	20	education program of The University of Texas Health Science Center
21	21	at Tyler, the medical school at the Texas Tech University Health
22	22	Sciences Center, the medical school at the Texas Tech University
23	23	Health Sciences Center at El Paso, the Baylor College of Medicine,
24	24	the college of osteopathic medicine at the University of North
25	25	Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, the school of
26	26	osteopathic medicine at the University of the Incarnate Word, or
27	27	the medical school at the Texas A&M University Health Science
28	28	Center.
29	29	SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
30	30	a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
31	31	provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
32	32	Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
33	33	Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
