66 AN ACT
77 relating to the participation of the school of osteopathic medicine
88 at the University of the Incarnate Word in certain state programs
99 supporting medical residency programs.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 61.501(1), Education Code, is amended to
1212 read as follows:
1313 (1) "Medical school" means the medical school at The
1414 University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, the medical
1515 school at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, the
1616 medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at
1717 San Antonio, The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston,
1818 the medical school at The University of Texas at Austin, the medical
1919 school at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the medical
2020 education program of The University of Texas Health Science Center
2121 at Tyler, the medical school at the Texas Tech University Health
2222 Sciences Center, the medical school at the Texas Tech University
2323 Health Sciences Center at El Paso, the Baylor College of Medicine,
2424 the college of osteopathic medicine at the University of North
2525 Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, the school of
2626 osteopathic medicine at the University of the Incarnate Word, or
2727 the medical school at the Texas A&M University Health Science
2828 Center.
2929 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3030 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3131 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3232 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3333 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
