8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 161, Health and Safety |
---|
10 | 10 | | Code, is amended by adding Section 161.01095 to read as follows: |

11 | 11 | | Sec. 161.01095. HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS ANNUAL REPORT. (a) |
---|
12 | 12 | | The department shall submit a report on the immunization rates for |
---|
13 | 13 | | human papillomavirus in this state to the governor, lieutenant |
---|
14 | 14 | | governor, and speaker of the house of representatives not later |
---|
15 | 15 | | than January 31 of each year. The department shall publish the |
---|
16 | 16 | | report on the department's Internet website. |
---|
17 | 17 | | (b) The report at a minimum must provide statistical |
---|
18 | 18 | | information on human papillomavirus immunizations for each county |
---|
19 | 19 | | in this state and this state for the preceding year, including: |
---|
20 | 20 | | (1) the number of persons immunized for human |
---|
21 | 21 | | papillomavirus and the percentage of persons immunized for human |
---|
22 | 22 | | papillomavirus compared to the number of persons eligible for that |
---|
23 | 23 | | immunization; |
---|
24 | 24 | | (2) the number of human papillomavirus vaccine doses |
---|
25 | 25 | | administered in total and in each dose interval; |
---|
26 | 26 | | (3) the number of persons immunized for human |
---|
27 | 27 | | papillomavirus by age; |
---|
28 | 28 | | (4) the number of persons immunized for human |
---|
29 | 29 | | papillomavirus by gender; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | (5) a comparison between the number of human |
---|
31 | 31 | | papillomavirus vaccines administered and the number of other |
---|
32 | 32 | | recommended adolescent vaccines administered, including the |
---|
33 | 33 | | tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, and meningococcal vaccines. |
---|
34 | 34 | | (c) In creating the report, the department shall use data |
---|
35 | 35 | | from the vaccines for children program established by the |
---|
36 | 36 | | department as authorized by 42 U.S.C. Section 1396s or the |
---|
37 | 37 | | immunization registry established under Section 161.007. |
---|
38 | 38 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
