77 relating to a human papillomavirus immunization report.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 161, Health and Safety
1010 Code, is amended by adding Section 161.01095 to read as follows:
1111 Sec. 161.01095. HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS ANNUAL REPORT. (a)
1212 The department shall submit a report on the immunization rates for
1313 human papillomavirus in this state to the governor, lieutenant
1414 governor, and speaker of the house of representatives not later
1515 than January 31 of each year. The department shall publish the
1616 report on the department's Internet website.
1717 (b) The report at a minimum must provide statistical
1818 information on human papillomavirus immunizations for each county
1919 in this state and this state for the preceding year, including:
2020 (1) the number of persons immunized for human
2121 papillomavirus and the percentage of persons immunized for human
2222 papillomavirus compared to the number of persons eligible for that
2323 immunization;
2424 (2) the number of human papillomavirus vaccine doses
2525 administered in total and in each dose interval;
2626 (3) the number of persons immunized for human
2727 papillomavirus by age;
2828 (4) the number of persons immunized for human
2929 papillomavirus by gender; and
3030 (5) a comparison between the number of human
3131 papillomavirus vaccines administered and the number of other
3232 recommended adolescent vaccines administered, including the
3333 tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, and meningococcal vaccines.
3434 (c) In creating the report, the department shall use data
3535 from the vaccines for children program established by the
3636 department as authorized by 42 U.S.C. Section 1396s or the
3737 immunization registry established under Section 161.007.
3838 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
