| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 1001.112, Education Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subsections (b-1) and (e) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (b-1) The department shall develop and make available on the | |
| 13 | 13 | department's Internet website course materials that would allow a | |
| 14 | 14 | person to conduct a course under this section. | |
| 15 | 15 | (e) The department may not charge a fee for: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) access to or use of course materials provided | |
| 17 | 17 | under Subsection (b-1); or | |
| 18 | 18 | (2) the submission of proof of completion of the | |
| 19 | 19 | course or passage of an examination under Subsection (c). | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
